A Flooded Basement in Hinsdale, Filmed Start to Finish

01The Job

A finished basement a few minutes from our own front door took on water. The crew filmed the whole remediation — this is the job to watch if you want to see exactly how we work.

This one happened in our home town, and it went the way most finished-basement floods go: water found its way in, and by the time anyone saw it, the carpet was soaked and the walls were wicking.

The film shows the playbook in order. Standing water extracted first. Then the honest sort — what dries in place and what has to come out — with wet material cut cleanly instead of gutting the whole room by reflex.

Commercial air movers and dehumidifiers went in next, placed off moisture readings rather than guesswork, and checked daily until the framing and slab actually read dry. Not looked dry. Read dry, on a meter.

Then the part most mitigation-only outfits leave to somebody else: drywall, trim, paint, and flooring back in, by the same company that pumped the water out. One call, one crew, one claim.

03How It Went

The loss

Water intrusion into a finished basement in Hinsdale — soaked carpet, wet drywall, wicking walls.

The response

Extraction, targeted demo of what couldn't be saved, and antimicrobial treatment of what the water touched.

The dry-out

Commercial air movers and dehumidifiers placed by moisture readings, verified daily until the structure read dry.

The rebuild

Drywall, trim, paint, and flooring restored by the same crew — back to a finished basement, not a construction site.
